Violent Crimes

Violent Crimes – State and Federal Charges

The Law Office of Michael K. Bachrach aggressively defends the rights of people charged with a violent crime in Federal or State court. Some of the criminal charges we handle include:

Murder (state, federal and capital death penalty cases)
Racketeering
Drug charges
Gambling
Organized crime
Conspiracy (drugs, prostitution, murder, and racketeering, etc.)
Most criminal defense firms have experience with state charges. We have extensive experience with state charges, but our vast experience with federal charges and criminal appeals is what makes our firm unique.

Our experience with federal cases provides a distinct advantage for clients charged with a state crime as well. The federal system places a strong emphasis on the importance of legal writing and research. When applied to state charges, our firm’s aptitude for legal writing and research has a powerful effect in state cases.

No case is too big for our firm to handle. Mr. Bachrach has successfully represented clients in a variety of complex criminal matters, including:

Federal death penalty trials, including a death penalty prosecution in an insurance fraud/murder-for-hire trial where the defendants had been accused of ordering the murder of at least four innocent victims (two in New York and two in Guyana, South America) in an effort to receive the proceeds of insurance policies. Michael Bachrach, along with his co-counsel and co-defendant’s counsel, convinced the jury to spare the lives of the defendants, despite the government’s all-out attempts to execute them.

Representation of alleged high-ranking members of organized crime families in cases involving murder, gambling, money laundering and racketeering conspiracies.

Representation of the first Guantanamo Bay, Cuba (GTMO), detainee to be transferred to civilian custody for trial.

Representation of alleged international drug cartels members and alleged narcotics trafficking conspiracies throughout New York, New Jersey, Maryland and Florida.

Representation of “million dollar madam” accused of running prostitution rings throughout New York City.
